Training and Knowledge Exchange

Through its peer network of food bank leaders and its expert staff, GFN provides food banks with the resources and know-how needed to better serve those facing hunger in their local communities. GFN’s network is the steadfast foundation for food bank organizations to evolve, thrive, and fulfill their mission to reduce hunger in their locality.

  • Food Bank Leadership Institute – GFN’s annual event for food bankers at all stages of development; a forum for best practice sharing; and a networking event for food bankers. This unique summit is a tremendous opportunity for food bankers to connect with others who have the same passion for a hunger-free world.
  • GFN e-Learning – Provides engagement and on-demand training opportunities year-round for food bank staff at all levels. This gives food bankers a convenient and easily accessible avenue to accelerate their operations in a sustainable way.
  • GFN Technical Assistance – GFN’s food bank experts provide technical assistance directly to GFN Members and Affiliates through field visits and remote support. This provides intensive support that enables food banks to refine operational protocols and establish more effective operations very quickly.

FOOD BANK LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The Annual Food Bank Leadership Institute (FBLI) offers the premier global platform for food bank leaders to exchange knowledge and best practices, stay abreast of the latest trends in hunger relief, and access proven training and growth techniques. Participation in FBLI is available to food bank leaders globally and unites these advocates in a way that impacts their work for years to come.

Since its inception in 2006, FBLI has convened more than 350 food bank leaders from over 60 countries. Past participants have gone on to launch food banks that continue to thrive today or start programs that address emerging issues, such as nutrition, rural hunger, and prepared food rescue.

GFN E-LEARNING
