By joining The Global FoodBanking Network’s (GFN) Friends of Food Banking community, you pledge to invest in a future without hunger. Inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and World Food Day, GFN encourages you to join us in ending hunger by 2030. Hunger is a complex, but solvable problem. Currently, 690 million people are chronically undernourished. The world produces more than enough food to feed every person on the planet, and more than 3 billion tons of food is lost or wasted. Food banks are local, community-based organizations that rescue food that would otherwise be wasted, and with the help of thousands of agencies, they serve as a powerful solution that helps communities ensure that every person facing hunger can access a nutritious meal.
