GFN earns the 2018 GuideStar Platinum Profile Seal of Transparency

Dear GFN partners and friends, This month, GFN earned the 2018 Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Seal of Transparency, the newest and highest level of recognition by one of the world’s largest sources of nonprofit information. This rating program is meant to enable transparent reporting of an organization’s actual impact in the world beyond simplistic financial ratios. Guidestar’s program enables GFN to lay out a fuller picture of how we set targets and monitor progress organizationally in a user-friendly and highly visual manner.  We hope that through this resource, you have another tool to evaluate how your partnership is helping to advance hunger relief through food banking.  To reach the Platinum level, GFN added extensive information to its Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar: basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward the mission. More information on Guidestar can be found below. This past year, 7.78 million people facing hunger accessed meals from a food bank in the GFN network, up from 7.1 million people in the year before.  It is only through the generous support of GFN’s mission that we can help these food banks accelerate the fight against hunger.  I hope you will visit GFN’s profile on Guidestar to track our progress and see how your investment in GFN is making a global impact.  With best regards, Lisa Moon, President & CEO About GuideStar Nonprofit Profiles The GuideStar database contains a profile for every tax-exempt nonprofit registered with the IRS.
